Bringing a beloved Pakistani candy brand back to life — for the adults who grew up with it.
The Brief
BP is a nostalgic Pakistani candy brand that holds genuine emotional significance for people who grew up in the 90s. The brief was to resurrect it — modernising the brand and packaging while keeping enough of the original essence intact that the now-adult audience would recognise it immediately and feel something.
The challenge: nostalgia is fragile. Modernise too aggressively and you lose the emotional connection. Stay too faithful to the original and the work feels lazy. The brief required precision.
What Was Built
Logo Refresh
- Revamped the BP logo while preserving its core recognisable elements — the mark adults remembered, made crisp and contemporary
- The approach was surgical: change what needed changing, protect what carried the memory
Packaging Redesign
- Redesigned packaging for the full product range: Spacer Toffee, Mr. Bear Chocolate, Dream Chocolate, and Sweet Eggs
- Each product’s new packaging drew directly from the original aesthetic — the colours, shapes, and character that made these products iconic — while modernising the execution for contemporary production and retail standards
- The result was packaging that felt instantly familiar to someone who hadn’t seen it in decades, while looking fresh enough for today’s shelves
The Outcome
The project was received with genuine enthusiasm — not the polite appreciation that greets competent work, but the kind of emotional response you get when you’ve actually nailed something. The work was recognised with awards for Best Presentation, Best Pitch, Best Idea, and Best Design.
The key insight: nostalgia projects aren’t about the past. They’re about helping people feel something they’d almost forgotten. BP Candy did exactly that.
Why It Matters for You
If you’re relaunching a heritage brand, reviving a product line, or repositioning something with an existing audience — the balance between honouring history and being relevant today is everything. B.P Candy shows that balance is achievable when the work is done with real care and precision.
