Eco realm
Client: EcoRealm
Year: 2021
Services: Brand Identity Redesign, Logo Design, Visual System, Brand
The Situation
EcoRealm is a wildlife and sustainability nonprofit doing genuinely
important work. The problem was that their branding didn’t reflect it.
The visual identity was disjointed and outdated — unable to
communicate the seriousness of the cause or build the trust needed to
attract supporters and donors.
In the nonprofit world, credibility is everything. If the brand looks
amateur, the mission struggles to be taken seriously.
What We Did
A Brand Refresh Rooted in the Mission
- Designed a new logo — a modern, nature-inspired mark that communicated both the scope of the cause (wildlife, ecosystems, the natural world) and the professionalism of the organisation behind it
- Built a colour palette from the landscapes EcoRealm works to protect: earthy greens, ocean blues, and natural tones that felt authentic rather than borrowed
- Selected Gilroy as the typography — clean, approachable, and balanced between professional credibility and human warmth
Built a Complete Visual System
- Created custom icons and visual assets designed for consistent use across web, social media, and print — giving EcoRealm a toolkit that could scale without losing coherence
- Developed comprehensive brand guidelines covering every use case, so every future application of the brand would maintain the standard set in the refresh
The Outcome
EcoRealm’s team described the result simply: they finally felt seen.
The brand now communicates what they’re about before anyone reads a
word of copy. Engagement on social platforms improved, and the new
identity gave supporters and donors a brand they could proudly
represent.
Good branding for mission-driven organisations isn’t a luxury — it’s
what makes the mission legible.
Why It Matters for You
Nonprofits, charities, and social impact organisations often underinvest
in brand because it feels secondary to the mission. The reality is the
opposite: brand is what makes the mission visible. EcoRealm shows what a
thoughtful brand refresh can unlock for an organisation with real
purpose.
